Raptors
All of the magnificent raptors used in our programs
have come through the River Raisin Raptor Center. Suffering
permanent injuries and unable to survive in the wild, these
non-releasable wild birds have been trained to help their wild
relatives by educating people about the issues facing raptors
today.
Raptor Volunteers will be on site every Saturday from 5-7 pm for
public feeding and to answer any of your questions. Now is your
chance to see the birds amazing adaptations in action while
feeding. Come on by and see the feet and beak work together to
help birds like the red tail hawk eat a rat, or the peregrine
falcon eat a quail. This is not an official program,, but a drop
in event. So drop in and get all your questions answered. Please
be aware that birds may not be coming out of their enclosures.
This is dependent on volunteer skills. |
