Animal Haunts - Northern Neighbors (Adults Only)

LSNC's favorite fall event grows up! Bring a friend (or two) for a fun evening with music, beer and hard cider, tasty treats, and a live show. While you're here, visit creepy crawlies in our Critter House, meet some of our resident owls up close, take a guided twilight hike through Black Pond Woods, and enjoy an autumn evening in the great outdoors. Participants must be 21 years or older.

Animal Haunts - Northern Neighbors

Ages: Kids 12 and under and their families
$10 per person, or $35 per family

Join us for a beloved autumnal celebration at LSNC's non-scary Animal Haunts! Take a guided hike through Black Pond Woods, where costumed interpreters bring plants and animals from northern Michigan to life by sharing natural history facts and stories. We'll have festive fun with harvest crafts,a hay jump, live animals, and more. Don't forget to come in costume!
**This is a candy-free, non-scary event for kids age 12 and under and their families. Please be advised that our trails are not stroller or wheelchair accessible.**

Parents' Night Out - Pop, Fizz, BANG!
Saturday, October 28, 2017 - 5:00pm to 10:00pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in K-6th grades
$30 per child ($25 per member)

It's a night out for grown-ups while the kids enjoy an exciting evening at LSNC. Practice the scientific method, sing silly songs, and make stuff explode during a fun-filled night. Bring your own lab coat or borrow one of ours. Parents’ Night Out includes a Panera sandwich box with PB&J or Turkey as well as a late-night popcorn snack. Families are welcome to send their child with a dinner from home. Activities will be outside as much as possible, so please come dressed for the weather!

Parents' Night Out- Whooooo's There?

Critters Up Close

Free with Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum admission

Every month, Ann Arbor Hands On Museum visitors get up close and personal with some of our favorite critters from the natural world!  Join us for hands-on activities and a meet and greet with critters from 10-4 on Saturday (with a mid-day “Animal Naptime”) and 1-4 on Sunday. This month the featured critters are owls and they are ready for their close up!

Night hikes, owl calling, and visits with live owls will fill the evening with wonder as we discover how ears, eyes, and feathers help owls survive the night. This program is for adults ages 18 and older. A similar event for families is offered on November 18th.

Fireside Fun- A Good Old-Fashioned Campfire Circle
Sunday, November 19, 2017 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Ages: All ages
Free

There's nothing quite as relaxing as sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows and swapping stories. One Sunday a month, we'll be stoking the fires here at LSNC. Bring your family, friends, camp chairs, outdoor games, and s'mores fixings. We'll provide a blazing outdoor campfire and plenty of marshmallows. This event is rain or shine (except for thunder and lightening), so come dressed for the weather.

No registration required.

Full Moon Hike
Saturday, December 2, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Ages: All ages
$9 per person or $34 per family ($8 per member or $30 per member family)

Enjoy the height of the lunar month with a moonlit hike through the woods. Do some simple science experiments out on the trail to understand how different animals eyes see in the dark, learn about night hike safety, and visit some of LSNC's nocturnal animals to learn more about how they survive. We'll also hear some stories and poems inspired by the moon and enjoy hot cocoa by the camp fire--go green by bringing your own reuseable mug!

**This program will include hike groups for all ages as well as for adults 18+. Please indicate your preference at registration. Cups will be provided if you cannot bring a mug.
