Since 1986 the Leslie Science and Nature Center has offered outstanding environmental education programs for kids and their families.  Our programs are designed to excite young minds, to provide a hands-on environment in which to learn scientific concepts and theories, and to ignite a connection to nature that will enrich and sustain children throughout their lives.  We provide programs to more than 36,000 people every year.

We exist only because of the marvelous generosity of the Leslies and our supporters. We can be faithful to the Leslies’ exemplary legacy only with the help of people like you. The children in our region need the magic, the joy and the confidence produced by programs such as ours. We hope you will continue to help us make that happen.

  • Beckman Coulter Foundation for $8,000 to support field trip and outreach programs to Detroit Public Schools!
    Kiwanis - $2,000 for scholarships!
    Rotary - $3,000 for scholarships!
    Wolf Family Family Foundation - $13,500 for environmental education programs at Northside, King, and Carpenter Schools
    Comerica - $900 for Adopt-a-Class for Dicken Elementary School!
    Donaldson & Guenther, DDS - $900 for Adopt-a-Class support!
    Turner Foundation - $10,000 for operating support!
    Earth Force- $4,000 for the GREEN program

Ben Pernick's Eagle Scout Project                           
He created a natural playspace for children to explore. Nestled in the forest, this enchanting play area has stumps to hop across, a sandpit and balance beam. Below is a list of major donors for this wonderful project.
