Adopt-A-Raptor

The Leslie Science & Nature Center's Adopt-A-Raptor Program is an opportunity to provide direct support to our birds of prey. Our educational birds are non-releasable and need permanent care; your support ensures that these birds continue to inspire and educate our visitors. In the case where we have multiple birds within a species, an LSNC raptor specialist will follow up with you to confirm which specific individual you are adopting.

Your adoption gifts are put to work immediately

  • Feeding and caring for our birds of prey
  • Providing medical treatment for our birds of prey when needed
  • Conducting training of both our birds and our staff
  • Defraying costs for schools that cannot afford our educational programs otherwise
  • Inspiring our visitors and community through educational programs

We have four adoption levels. The first three are as follows:

  • Gold: $220  - Two year adoption
  • Silver: $120  - One year adoption
  • Bronze: $50 - One year adoption - reserved for schools and youth groups

With your Gold, Silver, or Bronze adoption, you receive by mail:

  • A certificate recognizing your adoption
  • A color photograph of the bird you adopted
  • A biography of the bird you adopted
  • A fact sheet about the species of the bird you adopted
  • An Adopt-A-Raptor bumper sticker
  • Your name displayed on the enclosure of your adopted bird

When you adopt a bird of prey at the levels above as a gift, they will receive the adoption packet, and you will receive our warmest thanks and a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.
